Yuri emerged through the portal, sword in hand and his other hand empty, his composition calm as he looked around, he began to focus his energies, the world around him became blurry as he concentrated he saw the images of the wolf Ty and the feline Blackmane, then the demons they fought, the image of the demon who was trying to flank them became most clear.
Yuri's image held tight to that demon and he called forth the energy's with the language which only he here knew, and then he released the energy, and sent it towards the demon, then before the energy struck its target he began to focus his concentration again, the world once again becoming blurry and everything seemed to go in slow motion, and his image sharpened on a second demon.
He called forth for the aid of nature and focused on his target, asking for the roots deep in the ground to rise up and constrict the demon his sight had focused on.
Yuri lowered his arm and allowed the focus of the energy's around him to diminish, and looked with his clear vision to see the effects of his magic, one demon stood trying to fight and slice its feet free of the roots, and the second demon laid on the floor dead, an arrow through its eye socket.
Yuri was pleased with this outcome and then began to channel his energy's once more, to see what damage he could do to the demon tangled, his vision blurred once more and everything went slow, he took a deep breath as he felt the magic of the world, the essences of creatures that once lived, and the essences of the creatures that still lived, he focused on these and began his incantation, bringing these energy's to his control, he sent forth another ball of energy at the tangled demon, the energy connected and sent the demon to the floor.
Yuri's concentration returned to the world of the norm and he watched to see the demon rise, and join its comrades. The demon muttering in a guttural version of the common language, calling forth its own powers and sending them directly at him, Yuri closed his eyes and allowed instincts to over take him.
He lifted his arm and opened his eyes, the world once again slow and blurred, and his vision focused on the ball of harmful energy making its way directly for him.
Yuri called forth the powers of defensive magic and targeted this ball of energy, his hopes to diminish it or send it away, as he done this the magics of the caern around him reacted in a way he could not control, his whole body became encased with a magical energy.
The ball of harmful energy bounced off of him without a scratch being made, but as it bounced off of him it fractured into catastrophic balls of energy.
Striking Thalia, stood at Yuri's side into her shoulder, and stunning her. Another hit the man Kered square in the chest knocking him out of the fight, and back through the moonbridge entirely, at this time another section hit Althea and knocked her to the floor, her head cracking against the rock face with a sickening thud, her arm dropping limply through the moonbridge.
Yuri watched as all this happened around him, his vision still blurred and time still going slow, he witnessed two elves get struck, harder than most, one lay on the floor writhing in pain, and the other lay still, un-moving. The life from his eyes departed, his soul fled.
Upon seeing this Yuri let go of the magic and allowed his mind to return to the world of the norm, he looked around at the catastrophy which had formerly surrounded him and thought to himself, whoops.
With that thought he then noticed the demons were advancing upon the group once more, head on. Yuri raised his sword arm and braced himself, now in the lead position against the advancing demons.
As he braced himself against the onslaught two forms powered across the open expanse towards the caern, towards the group.
In a flash of black fur the great wolf leapt high clearing Yuri's head, her massive paws thudding heavily into the ground behind him even as she leapt once more dissapearing into the moonbridge in a flurry of fur and dust....
